Improve Hearing Loss with Yoga & Cardio Exercise
Hearing loss is a major public health issue. It is the third most common physical condition after arthritis and heart disease. Approximately 20 percent of adults in the United States experience some degree of hearing loss
Did you know that everyday exercise and yoga routines can actually improve your hearing?
Cardio Exercise for Hearing Loss
Cardio exercise gets your blood pumping and, as the name suggests, is healthy for your heart. One thing most people usually don’t realize is increased blood flow is also good for your hearing.
The ability to hear has a lot to do with the inner ear circulation. Blood circulation supports bodily functions and supplies the body with the essential nutrients it needs to function properly. Maintaining healthy blood circulation in the inner ear is crucial for better hearing health.
Hearing Loss Yoga Treatment
People with hearing loss may be skeptical about trying yoga. They wonder if they will be able to hear the instructor well enough to follow along in a class or if their devices will fall off when performing different yoga poses. It’s important to find a yoga studio or gym that realized and addresses these concerns. At Fitness is My Sickness our yoga instructors are trained to accommodate all types of disabilities so you don’t feel awkward about talking to the teacher regarding your hearing loss. It is typical for our members to discuss physical limitations with the yoga teacher prior to class starting.
Yoga classes combine poses with deep breathing exercises to increase blood flow to our ears and sinuses. This improves the functioning nerves in our ears and nose.
